Dr. Robert Stewart is Section Head for Human Dynamics in Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Geospatial Science and Human Security Division, leading teams that advance AI-enabled analytics for population dynamics, location intelligence, critical-infrastructure resilience, geoinformatics, and geospatial modeling. His research centers on the geospatial dimensions of risk and decision making under uncertainty; embedding engineering judgment and experiential knowledge in data-scarce settings; and scaling responsible AI across interdisciplinary teams and operational contexts. He serves as Vice President for IEEE CIS Industry and Government Activities, helping bridge academic advances and the safe operational adoption of computational intelligence methods across government and industry.
