Call for Workshop Proposals
IJCNN 2027 invites participants to organize half-day workshops by submitting proposals to the IJCNN 2027 Organizing Committee. Workshops may focus on standard IJCNN topics as well as on emerging, multidisciplinary, and impactful topics.

Workshop Rules

Workshop organizers should facilitate participation, communication, and impact. Organizers are also in charge of the event promotion, agreements with speakers, sponsorships, and logistics during the event.

All workshops will be half day, therefore with a total duration of 4 hours. The structure and itinerary of each workshop is decided by the organizer and may include workshop keynote, invited speakers, regular papers, poster sessions, and/or panels.

Workshops may receive the submission of full papers (up to 6 pages) to be considered, after review, for publication in the proceedings of the IJCNN 2027 on the IEEE Xplore Digital Library, or papers published on independent proceedings, volume series or journal special issue, therefore NOT in the proceedings of the IJCNN 2027 on the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.

If the option of publication in the IJCNN2027 proceedings is selected, then the reviewing of papers will follow the same IJCNN2027 reviewing process, otherwise the organizers will manage the reviewing process independently.

It is highly recommended that a detailed description of the Workshop is provided through a dedicated webpage, which must be accessible, at least, till the end of the IJCNN 2027 conference.

The workshop day of the conference will be Day 5 of the IJCNN2027 Conference, i.e. Friday, June 18, 2027. There will be up to 8 concurrent workshops at the same time (a total of up to 16 half-day workshops).

Conference attendees and speakers with full registration can attend the workshops for free but must select the workshops (only one per concurrent session) they plan to attend on the registration form. Attendees and speakers can register only for the Workshop Day and must select the workshops (only one per concurrent session) they plan to attend on the registration form; a reduced registration fee will be applied in this case with respect to the full conference registration case.

The full conference registration fee has to be paid to publish a regular paper, J2C or late-breaking papers as part of a workshop.

Organizers of Workshops with 10+ and 20+ workshop day registrations will get 50% full conference registration fee waiver for one organizer and two organizers, respectively.

The Workshop timeline is decided by the Workshop organizers considering that the ultimate deadline for paper submissions is January 31, 2027 (papers intended to be published within IJCNN2027 Proceedings).
Proposal Submission Guidelines
Prospective Workshop organizers are expected to submit a proposal document, by following the provided template (please limit it to 8,000 chars, including spaces), including the following information:
Tentative title and acronym of the Workshop.
Full list of organizers (including names, affiliations and short bios).
Organizing team’s experience: Information that supports the organizers’ ability to run a workshop (e.g. previous experiences on events’ organization).
Relevance to the IJCNN community and motivation on why the workshop can enrich the conference; if the workshop is part of a series of workshops across multiple years, please mention it in the proposal and clarify the relevance of the new workshop edition.
Organization of the workshop (duration, expected number of attendees, agenda). If you plan to have keynotes or invited speakers, clarify in the proposal which of them already accepted the invitation. Discuss how diversity is being considered in the organizing committee and in the selection of invited speakers (if any). Discuss if special space or equipment are requested.
Whether proceedings will go through IEEE Xplore Digital Library or not.
List of potential reviewers for Workshop papers, if the option of publication in the IJCNN 2027 proceedings is selected. The reviewer list must be provided after acceptance of the proposal.
All proposals will be evaluated taking into consideration their relevance to IJCNN 2027, novelty, scientific impact, and organizers’ expertise. Organizers are expected to take special care to diversity, inclusivity, and potential ethical issues. Workshop proposals must be submitted in pdf format via the IJCNN 2027 CMT System below.
