Marley Vellasco is a Full Professor and the current Vice President for Academic Affairs at PUC-Rio. She holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from PUC-Rio and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from University College London. She has published over 90 journal articles and more than 400 papers in conference proceedings. She has been a member of the Board of Governors of the International Neural Network Society since 2011, served as Vice President for Conferences of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) from 2020 to 2023, and is currently a member of the CIS Administrative Committee. Her main area of expertise is the development of hybrid intelligent systems for AutoML, as neuro-evolutionary models, fuzzy-evolutionary systems, and neural architecture search.
