Kai Qin is a Professor and the Director of the Intelligent Data Analytics Lab at Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. He currently serves as the Vice President for Education at the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society. His research spans machine learning, neural networks, evolutionary computation, and computer vision. He was the General Co-Chair of IJCNN 2022 and the Chair of the IEEE CIS Neural Networks Technical Committee (2021-2022). He received the IEEE TEVC Outstanding Paper Award (2012) and the IEEE TNNLS Outstanding Associate Editor Award (2022). He was elevated to IEEE Fellow for contributions to synergy machine learning and intelligent optimization.
