Alvaro David Orjuela-Cañón: Electronic Engineer from Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas (2006), with an MSc (2010) and a PhD (2015) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in computational intelligence applied to health. He also holds specializations in Applied Mathematics and Pedagogical Innovation. He is an Associate Professor at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences of Universidad del Rosario and a Senior Researcher recognized by Minciencias (Colombia). He is an IEEE Senior Member, volunteer in IEEE CIS and EMBS Colombia during last 15 years, and served as Chair of IEEE Colombia Section and Chair of the Computational Intelligence in Latin America Task Force (2023–2024). His interests include signal processing, computational intelligence in healthcare, and diagnostic support methods.
